Right to Reply
Fire Door Journal (FDJ) is committed to fair, accurate and responsible journalism. Where an article contains significant criticism, allegations or claims concerning an identifiable individual, company or organisation, FDJ will, where appropriate and practicable, seek to provide the subject with a reasonable opportunity to respond prior to publication.
If you believe that an article published by FDJ contains a material factual inaccuracy, misrepresents your position, or includes significant criticism to which you have not had an appropriate opportunity to respond, you are welcome to contact the editorial team and request a right to reply.
Requests should clearly identify the article concerned, the specific statement or issue being challenged, the reason you believe a response is warranted, and any evidence or supporting information relevant to your position.
Where FDJ considers that a right to reply is appropriate, we may publish a response, correction, clarification or update to the original article. Responses may be edited for length, clarity, relevance, accuracy, legal considerations and house style.
A right to reply does not provide an automatic or unrestricted right to publication. FDJ reserves editorial discretion over whether, where and in what form a response is published. Responses containing defamatory, abusive, misleading, promotional or otherwise inappropriate material may be edited or declined.
Requests for a right to reply should be sent to the Fire Door Journal editorial team at editor@firedoor-journal.co.uk and should, wherever possible, be submitted promptly following publication of the article concerned.
Our aim is to ensure that legitimate differences of fact or perspective are handled fairly and transparently while maintaining the independence and integrity of Fire Door Journal’s editorial content.
